We’ve got work to do. I’m here for it.
My name is Ash Black, and I’m running for Bremerton City Council – District 3 because I believe in this city and in the people who hold it together every single day.
I come from a long line of public servants military veterans, firefighters, first responders and I was raised to believe that you show up for your neighbors, especially when things are hard.
My father was a firefighter. My family served. Now, it’s my turn.
For years, I’ve been showing up not as a politician, but as a mentor, a media producer, and a believer in Bremerton’s untold stories. I founded BlackHeart Media to spotlight the people who are too often left out of the conversation. I created Afternoons with Ash to elevate the voices of artists, organizers, parents, and neighbors who are doing the work — quietly, courageously, and without recognition.
I’ve sat in living rooms with families who are one rent hike away from being displaced. I’ve walked neighborhoods still waiting for basic investment. I’ve talked with kids who’ve never seen someone like them hold office. That’s why I’m running.
This city deserves leadership that’s on the ground, in the room, and willing to listen — not just when it’s convenient, but when it counts.
Rents are rising.
Youth are falling through the cracks.
First responders are under-resourced.
Working families are being priced out of the very communities they helped build.
But I believe in us.
I believe in the power of storytelling, organizing, and community-building. I believe that with bold, honest leadership — we can create a Bremerton that works for everyone.
This campaign is about people. Not profit.
It’s about presence. Not politics.
It’s about Moving Bremerton Forward — together.
